Being a doctor is a dream for millions all across the world. Doctor Profession is respectable and duly rewarding in every way for one to opt. Foreign Medical graduates have ample job scope and opportunities after their course completion. Most medical aspirants aim to work in most reputed healthcare institutions. On the other hand, some aspirants plan on setting up a clinic of their own after completing their education. Both of these paths are equally efficient and will pave the way to fetch a worthy fortune.

Kings International Medical Academy in association with Davao Medical School Foundation is a proud Pathfinder for aspiring medical students. KIMA brings exclusive opportunities for aspirants to study MBBS in Philippines. Every year thousands of doctors who graduated from the Davao Medical School Foundation work in developed countries, including the UK and the USA.

KIMA gained its prominence for unbeatable FMGE and NEET results year after year. Many students who completed FMGE in Kings international medical academy got placed all over India. We aim to make competitive exams less strenuous by providing proper guidance.

Dr David K Pillai, chairman of Kings International Medical Academy (KIMA), with experience of more than 20 years in the medical educational field, shares the best career options after MBBS abroad.

Higher Education and Specialisation

The foreign medical graduates who want to practice medicine in India should clear FMGE, which is a compulsory licensure examination. Then the students can apply for the post-graduate.

Masters in Medicine (M.D.) and Master of Surgery (M.S.) are the most common post-graduate courses. The course duration for MD/MS is three years. On the other hand, the students can opt for a diploma with course duration of 2 years. To pursue post-graduate in India, they should clear NEET PG.

He further added that the alternative way of pursuing higher education and specialisation after MBBS is to take DNB which is conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). The DNB qualification is considered equal to MD and MS courses.

Clinical research

Dr. David K Pillai added that the sphere of research in India is still growing and developing. There is an urge in need for clinical researchers. Various institutes that offer research opportunities include ICMR (Indian Council for Medical Research), CIMAP, CCMB (Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology), St. John’s Research Institute.

A few research universities in India, like the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), will admit doctors directly to their research programs based on merit. Some institutions will conduct entrance exams for the clinical researchers to offer fellowship.

Masters in Hospital Management (MHA)

According to Chairman of Kings International Medical Academy (KIMA) Dr. David K Pillai, the Indian healthcare sector is experiencing exponential growth, and Master of Health Administration (MHA) is an excellent career option after MBBS. MHA is a 2-year professional master’s level degree. It teaches multidisciplinary conceptual skills to protect the medical profession and clients from unnecessary litigation, human resource development, quality and risk management, environment conservation, marketing, product diversification, and logistic emergency management.

A post-graduate in Abroad

Dr. David K Pillai, chairman of Kings International Medical Academy (KIMA), utters that many Indian Medical graduates plan to pursue their PG medical studies in USA or UK. For PG in the USA, aspirants have to qualify in USMLE (the United States Medical Licensing Examination). It is a 3 step examination and one of the most challenging examinations in the world. PLAB (Professional and Linguistic Assessments Board) is the licensure examination for residency in the UK. Comparatively, it is easier than USMLE.

He further added that foreign medical graduates can practice medicine in India after clearing FMGE. From a Government job, perspective FMGs can get posted in rural and remote areas to work as medical practitioners in primary health centers.
